Mobivelo owners Tifenn and Jonathan in their natural habitat

Our History

Mobivélo was created by a husband-and-wife team of bicycle fanatics. We understand that cyclists need good, reliable and timely service. We’ve all had that day where we needed our bike worked on, but couldn’t get the bike to the shop during their opening hours – or that time when we wanted something installed on the bike but didn’t want to be away from it for several days.
These are the problems we wanted to solve when we created Mobivélo . We wanted to make bicycle service easier and faster so you could get out and ride sooner. We want to give you the best possible service because that’s what we would want for ourselves.

We cater to every cyclist. We’re based in Chelsea, and will service bicycles within the entire Ottawa region – from Wakefield to Orleans, Stittsville to Ottawa South, as long as you’re within an hour from us, we’ll come to you.
We’ll work on any bicycle too. Is your main ride a steel frame commuter that has taken you through several Ottawa winters? We can make it feel like new again. Are you getting ready to race the Tremblant Ironman with your brand new Di2-equipped carbon tri-bike? We can make sure it’s singing a perfect tune before the big day. We’ve worked on trikes, recumbent bicycles, tandems, higly-customized high-end bicycles, and the family bikes.
The bottom line is that we live and breathe bicycles. If you have a bike problem, nothing would make us happier than to fix it.

Our Team

Jonathan Palframan
Jonathan Palframan
Owner and head technician Jonathan has been around the bike industry for over 25 years. First as a kid using his BMX to get to his friends' house, then as a pro cross-country and downhill mountain biking racer. Jon was always mechanically inclined and did his own maintenance, as well as worked for various shop or as team mechanic for races. As a bike mechanic, he has been described as the bike whisperer - he can make your bicycle feel like new again. Jon's favorite ride is currently his Kona Operator, a sweet stealth black machine he can push hard on the Fortune and Bromont DH trails.
Tifenn Vialatte
Tifenn Vialatte
Tifenn got into biking a bit later in life, but dabbled into several disciplines - triathlon, XC, cyclocross - before settling on her favorite, downhill racing. She spent a few years racing the Ontario and Quebec cup circuits, but now her favorite ride is her custom-built grocery store bike, the perfect bike to pull a chariot to take baby grocery shopping, or for a quick ride to the Chelsea ice cream shop. Tifenn's work at Mobivelo is mostly behind the scene - website and management - but you might see her around at events.
Etienne Pariseau
Etienne Pariseau
Etienne grew up riding his mountain bike in and around Chelsea. His first job was in a local bike shop and even thought that was over 20 years ago, he’s still fully passionate about everything with two wheels and a chain. He has worked for shops and after college, moved to Montreal to work for distributors and then came back to work as a sales rep so he knows a thing or two about the industry. Nowadays, when he’s not running or wrenching, he’s teaching bike mechanics at the Wakefield Community Centre. Etienne can’t wait for his 2 boys to start riding! 2016 will be his second season with Mobivélo - you'll see Etienne doing his magic at events throughout the summer!
